Part 1

As indicated in The Power of Home Numbers.

In the Vedic system, each planet is traditionally associated with a given crystal:

  • The Sun with ruby
  • Mercury with emerald
  • Venus with diamond
  • The Moon with pearl
  • Mars with red coral
  • Jupiter with yellow sapphire
  • Saturn with blue sapphire or a horseshoe ring
  • Uranus with cat’s eye
  • Neptune with pearl or cat’s eye

Secondary crystals can sometimes be substituted for these primary ones. Wearing a blue sapphire with an emerald is considered an auspicious combination for those whose energy is compatible with the blue sapphire. A substitute for blue sapphire is a horseshoe band, that is, made from a horseshoe. It holds the same energy as the blue sapphire, but must be activated by reciting mantras for Saturn energy.

It is well known that, if your Saturn is weak, it will constantly bring problems with finances. If Saturn is adversely placed in your natal chart, it blocks the energy of the entire body. But it is also said that a strong Saturn is sufficient to balance any negative energies of the other planets in one’s natal chart. In India, there are many temples dedicated to Saturn which people visit on Saturday to propitiate the Lord Saturn by donating oil, black cloth, dal (legumes), and iron in the form of nails.

Lapis lazuli, primarily mined in Afghanistan and parts of Iran, is also worn as a substitute for a blue sapphire. Lapis lazuli has psychic power and can open your sixth eye. Lapis lazuli was inlaid in the marble of the Taj Mahal.

Part 2

As indicated in The Power of Home Numbers

Venus is the creator of wealth and she also represents love and money. The crystals that go with Venus are white coral and diamonds. Again, diamonds do not suit everyone’s energy. For those who feel uncomfortable wearing diamonds or whose energy is not compatible, white coral is just as effective. Many famous East Indian actors and actresses wear these crystals.

Rose quartz has similar energy, the energy of love. Rose quartz is best in the shape of a sphere and should be kept within the home in a place of respect. It radiates the heart chakra energy, the energy of love and giving. This energy is good for balancing and keeping marriages together, as well as encouraging a flow of love between both partners.

Diamonds and zirconium work to curb an excess of Uranus energy. Someone who has a Uranus name would benefit tremendously from wearing a diamond set in platinum on the ring finger of the right hand for men or left hand for women.

Pearl and cat’s eye will calm an excess of Neptune energy. Traits that come with Neptune energy are spiritual work, music, film, creativity, magic, and mystery. If someone has a music company or organization, either a pearl or cat’s eye would be beneficial, again depending on that person’s specific numerology. Neptune represents the number 7. Jagjit Singh, an Indian singer famous for singing ghazals (a highly structured and difficult poetical form), always performs with a group of seven people, including himself. There are seven notes in the musical scale, and Jagjit Singh honors each one with a performer.

Part 3

As indicated in The Power of Home Numbers

It is said that a cat’s eye should only be worn after consulting with a Vedic astrologer. It must suit your chart, because a cat’s eye can be so powerful that it can resurrect an almost dead business, bringing in clients and money. Its power is multiplied when worn with a yellow sapphire (which represents the planet Jupiter).

Amethyst is a very popular crystal. People wear it in rings and pendants. Crystals are placed in homes and offices. A pair of amethyst geodes close to the main door of a home or business can work magically to pull the highest energy. When constructing a new home, many Asians bury two amethyst geodes on each side of the front door, saying that this is auspicious and will bring good luck. In India, many people wear amethyst as a substitute for blue sapphire. Though it is only a semi-precious stone, amethyst still has properties to connect to the highest chakra due to its color.

Obsidian is considered to be fortuitous if placed close to or facing an entry door. It wards off negative energy. I’ve used obsidian for many years in my home and have felt its power.

In India, some people place a Venus statue in their sleeping area to enhance both finances and health.

In South India, people are fond of wearing a ring called the Navaratna, meaning nine jewels. It is prepared by placing the ruby (Sun energy) in the middle, with the other stones surrounding it. All the energies revolve around the Sun. Because South India has a different culture from that of the North, they have a different way of analyzing energies or looking at astrology.

Once you acknowledge which crystals are most favorable for your energy, you can wear the appropriate ones and activate their powers to heal, balance, and uplift any aspect of life.
